Idiom of the Week – Week 8

Each week of 2017 we present an English idiom.

“when it rains, it pours” (proverb): usually more than one thing goes wrong at the same time (ein Ärgernis kommt selten allein)

Example:
A: First I forgot my phone, then I got a flat tire on my way to work. By the time I got to work, I had missed an important meeting.
B: You know what they say: when it rains, it pours.
