Idiom of the Week – Week 1

Each week of 2017 we present an English idiom.

“when pigs fly”:  something is either impossible or unlikely to happen

Example 1:  It’s true that my colleague and I are part of the same sales team, but we’re paid based on the deals we close. Will I share my client data with her? When pigs fly!

Example 2:
Young daughter to mother: “Can I get my nose pierced?”
Mother to daughter: “Sure, when pigs fly.”
