Due to the coronavirus, our classes have been online since 16 March. How does online English training work?
Here’s an overview:
Online platforms: We use Zoom in our classes. If a client has a license for another platform and would like to use that, we can use that platform instead. Skype, Microsoft Teams and AdobeConnect are other platforms we are using with our clients. All platforms have similar functions.
Listening/speaking/writing/reading: Using the online platform tools and features, it’s possible to practice all four skills.
Sharing information: Before the lesson, we prepare information for our lessons and put it in a document or in slides. Then we share the document with the participants using screen-sharing.
The whiteboard or flipchart: It’s possible to share a whiteboard with all participants. The instructor can write on the whiteboard, and the course participants can add their ideas too. We also use the chat function to share information, for example to write a word or a sentence.
The class activities: Just like in the classroom, we can do different kinds of activities. We can also divide the class into breakout rooms so they can do speaking activities, roleplays, etc. Like in the classroom, the instructor can visit the different breakout rooms while the participants are working to see how they are doing and to correct any mistakes and answer questions.
The methods used for teaching: All teaching methods and games can be modified so they can be carried out online.
In sum, we’re not in the same room with you, but you can still benefit from the same quality lessons online. All clients who have tested our online courses have decided to continue the lessons online.
We are happy to answer any other questions you have. Send a message to info@dels-online.
